CBS Pulls the Plug on ‘Two and a Half Men’ Season

After Charlie Sheen’s recent  drug incident and behavior, CBS and Warner Bros. have decided to cancel ‘Two and a Half Men’ for the remainder of the season.

“Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of “Two and a Half Men” for the remainder of the season,” the show’s network and studio said in a statement relayed by NPR.

Fox News reports that this came after Charlie Sheen went on air on the Alex Jones Radio Show and attacked the show’s producer, Chuck Lorre, saying that he was a “clown” and a “charlatan” and saying that his real name was “Chaim Levine.” Sheen also wrote in an open letter to TMZ, “I violently hate Chaim Levine,” “He’s a stupid, stupid little man and a… punk that I’d never want to be like. That’s me being polite.”

He also added that he was the sole reason the show was popular and that he had turned the ”tin can” of a show and turned it into “pure gold.” In this respect, he might be right, Forbes reports that Sheen helped make the show the most watched comedy in prime time TV, averaging 15.2 million viewers and $155.1 Million in ad money for CBS.

Sheen also responded to a vanity card that Lorre ran after the February 14 episode of ‘Two and a Half Men’ saying that he would be pissed if Charlie Sheen outlived him. He said, “I didn’t care about that vanity card, I went straight home and dispelled that, that was actually one of the few compliments that clown has paid me in frickin’ almost a decade,” reports Entertainment Weekly.

Charlie Sheen’s police trouble had him in and out of rehab and halting production of the show for the past few years. Most recently, Sheen checked himself into rehab after a reported overdose that caused him to land in the hospital a few weeks ago. At the time, Warner Bros. and CBS had showed patience and understanding, even standing by him while he was bring criticized by the media. They said that they hoped him the best and were “profoundly concerned about his health and wellbeing.”
