‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12’ Tees Off March 29

The newest addition to the Tiger Woods video game franchise by EA Games will be available on March 29 for the Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters will allow gamers to play for the first time ever at Augusta National Golf Club, and let them relive memorable moments from the Masters. They can choose from over 20 players including Bubba Watson and Zach Johnson. Players can experience once again the Tiger Woods wins at the Masters by trying to equate or beat his score, and can also use the Caddie experience to have a caddie by their side to assist and support them while recommending shots and improving play, says EA’s Tiger Woods blog.

To get the terrain as close as possible to being there, EA Sports used a state-of-the-art art laser scanning technology to make for an authentic tournament experience. EA Sports “lasered the whole golf course,” Woods says of the new game’s terrain to USA Today. “It’s within 6 millimeters of the real golf course, which is pretty remarkable if you think about it. So basically, you are playing the same golf course that we do.”

The game in Playstation 3 also allows players to use the Move controller to replicate golf swings, and has a first-person mode which according to Woods “makes you feel like you are actually hitting the golf shot.” The Wii version also has a similar feature with its remote.

According to the Examiner, the game’s graphics are “clean and crisp” and extra effort has been put in to accentuate shadows and give golfers a more realistic look.  Those who have last year’s version also have the option of transferring their points to this year’s game, and there are 16 courses available to choose from including four that have never been included in the EA series before.
