Newly-divorced, former “desperate” housewife, Eva Longoria grazes the April cover of Allure Magazine, available on newsstands March 22.

Longoria, who is rumored to be dating Penelope Cruz’s younger brother, Eduardo, talked about her recent divorce, saying, “I’m kind of having to find new patterns because I’m not used to having-I’m used to always being on a plane and flying to a basketball game….It’s been – every time I talk about it, I want to cry. It’s been hard. Very hard. I’m just trying to get through it as gracefully as possible without any drama,” according to Allure.

Her divorce may have been difficult, but Longoria said that she could always count on her friends, especially “Desperate Housewives” co-stars, “Two actors who I lean on heavily for life advice are Marcia Cross and Felicity [Huffman]. We’re like sisters,” Longoria told the magazine. “You know, some people collect plates and stamps and coins. I collect amazing, smart, interesting women.”

She added that when going through something as difficult as a divorce, “you just want to be surrounded by people who care for you,” she said of her closest friends whom she lives with “I don’t know what I’d do without them,” she added.

Longoria also shared how she proud she was to star in “Desperate Housewives”, saying, “’Desperate Housewives’ was groundbreaking for Latinos in television because the Solises were the richest people on the block – and they’re Mexican.”

As for the look she adopted for the shoot, “I wanted to make her look incredibly sexy, like Sophia Loren,” said makeup artist Stephane Marais, who focused on her eyes, according to Allure. “She’s a lashes freak—the more I added, the happier she was,” he added.

When asked about her next career move, Longoria answered that she was in a “transition stage, settling into a new routine, and I welcome it.” Before becoming an actress, Longoria was a dental assistant, a set extra, and a headhunter. Currently she’s a model and spokeswoman for L’Oreal Paris and her fragrance Eva by Eva. She’s also a restaurateur and an author.
