Britney Spears Glows in V Magazine

Britney Spears appeared in V Magazine’s spring issue, and talked upcoming album Femme Fatale, fame, and lessons learned. Spears’ magazine cover and spread by photographer, Mario Testino, gave the 29-year-old, an ethereal beauty and glow, and showcased that despite her past setbacks, Spears is back and in her words, “better than ever!”

Spears revealed a few teasers to songs on her new album this week which is scheduled for release on March 29. Spears says of the album, “I think Femme Fatale speaks for itself. I worked really hard on it and spent almost two years recording it. I think it’s the best album I have ever made. There’s nothing to say. I’ll let the music speak for me.”

Spears added that the album was both an evolution as it represents who she is as a woman today, but also a revolution for her in terms of sound. “I wanted to make a fierce dance record where each song makes you want to get up and move your body in a different way. That’s what I want from the music I listen to. This record is for the clubs, or something you play before you go out at night. It’s definitely my edgiest and most mature sound yet.”

As for the Femme Fatale, Spears describes her as “A woman who is sexy and strong, dangerous and mysterious, cool and confident.”

When asked about fame, Spears revealed that she never thought about being famous when she was younger, “I knew I wanted to perform and I knew I wanted to be on stage but I don’t think I ever thought about fame or what comes with being famous.”

Spears also told the magazine that she learned a lot in the past few years, and that she has moved on. While enduring media scrutiny, she learned that she should not let people dictate who she is or change her who she is.

“I’m past all of that. I try to block it all out and not pay attention to anything they write about me in the magazines or online. I’m done with that.”

As for her legacy, she says that she wants to be remembered as having, “Two amazing boys and a lot of music that hopefully brings a lot of people a lot of happiness.”
