New ‘Sims Medieval’ Game Comes out in North America

The new limited edition Sims Medieval game set in the Middle Ages, has been released by EA for PC and Mac.

According to PCworld, the Sims Medieval game allows gamers to create heroes, build their skills and send them off on quests and create their very own kingdoms in medieval times.

“Our community has wanted to be able to place their Sims in a different time period for years and now they can with The Sims Medieval,” said Scott Evans, General Manager of The Sims Studio in a press release. “The Sims Medieval is a new standalone game that keeps the core values of The Sims at its heart, but gives fans new gameplay elements to explore and allows them to tell epic Medieval tales.”

Players can create Sims heroes from all walks of life; kings, queens, wizards, blacksmiths, reports Gamers Hell. There are many storyline possibilities depending on the character chosen. Players can protect their kingdom from an evil invader, plan a royal wedding, or find the fountain of youth among other activities.

Players also get to control not only the quests that the Sims heroes go on, but their professional life as well. They will have to make sure that the Sims heroes perform their daily duties such as healing the sick, building armory, and trading exotic goods. They can customize every new hero, even selecting their traits, clothes and fatal flaws. In addition, there are new gameplay options such as medieval punishments and diplomacy with neighboring territories, adds the press release.

“Everything in The Sims Medieval is crafted to create an immersive medieval world, from the quest-based gameplay, to the medieval objects such as swords and stocks and thrones, right down to the warm look of the characters and the painterly approach to the world itself,” adds the press release. This differentiates it from previous bright and sunny Sims look, and gives it a more Renaissance-era classic European look that is more austere, states Cnet Australia.
