Selena Gomez Threatened By Bieber Fans

Selena Gomez, who is reportedly dating teen heartthrob Justin Bieber, has become the target of a hate campaign started by Bieber fans on Twitter.

The harassments began after pictures of Gomez and Bieber vacationing in St. Lucia hit the internet. Jealous Beliebers went wild, sending death threats through Twitter to the Disney star. After the young couple appeared on the red carpet together at the Vanity Fair party a few weeks ago, Gomez reportedly received even more threats from Bieber fans, and a source told MTV, that Gomez wasn’t coping too well.

“Selena’s terrified. She’s only young and when she sees things written about her, she understandably freaks out. Justin tries to reassure her, but what can he do?”

Bieber fans are known to be jealous and possessive of the young star. Kim Kardashian also received her own share of insults when she was linked to the star a few months ago. Beliebers in Liverpool, where he is on tour, also reportedly caused a riot scene outside of his hotel, and causing Bieber to be “trapped” in the hotel, reports MTV. Police told Bieber to stay indoors and not appear in the balcony otherwise they would have to arrest him for “inciting a riot” situation, reports MTV.

The Irish fans would probably get even crazier if they knew how much Bieber missed his girlfriend and how much time he spent on the phone with her while on tour, reports the Mirror.

“Justin will break the hearts of his thousands of Irish ‘Beliebers’ because he’s been on the phone nearly 24/7 to Selena during the Ireland visit.” The source added to the UK daily, “They’ve been texting, calling and even tweeting around the clock to keep in touch. He keeps telling everyone how much he missed her.”

On her end, is Gomez trying to keep her relationship with Bieber low profile, refusing to admit that she’s dating him. “I’m a very private person, so I definitely like to keep certain things to myself,” she told E! News.

Gomez would much rather focus on her musical career which is still going strong with the recent release of her new single about empowerment and self-acceptance, “Who Says.”
