Justin Beiber and Ozzy Osbourne Team Up for Super Bowl 2011 Ad

An unlikely pair, Justin Beiber and Ozzy Osbourne have teamed up for a highly anticipated Super Bowl commercial for Best Buy.  This will be Best Buy’s first appearance in the Super Bowl, and they’ve kept the content of the commercial ultra top secret.  Both Beiber and Osbourne haven’t breathed a word other than hinting that it will be an exceptionally amusing commercial.  The Super Bowl is considered one of the most significant advertising platforms in the world.

Air time during the Super Bowl is by far the most expensive, and the most coveted ad spots of all time.  There is a huge following of people who watch the Super Bowl primarily for the commercials.  Super Bowl commercials are judged, rated, and shown on YouTube for months following the event.  There are contests to win air time with your own commercial creation for the Super Bowl, and ad spots are sold years in advance.  Even the worst time slots are incredibly difficult to land for those hoping for an ad spot.

The ad is slotted to run during the third quarter of the game, and we’re guessing that it will most likely be the first time that millions of teenage girls tune into the Super Bowl, all of them afflicted with Beiber Fever.  No, I don’t envy anyone who may be in the same room with any young girls during the commercial.

Best Buy’s senior vice president of U.S. marketing has commented that the Beiber-Osbourne commercial will showcase humor and creativity, adding a whole element of fun to Best Buy’s message.  The ad is already creating a buzz on the Internet, and is effectively building anticipation for seeing it on game day, which is precisely what Best Buy is hoping for.

What lies in store for football fans on game day?  Your guess is as good as mine.

  • The fact that Bieber is in it makes me not want to see the stupid commercial. Ozzy would be cool though, he always has been.
