No 3D For Super Bowl, Fans Still Scramble To Upgrade HDTVs For Game

One of the most anticipated HDTV moments of the year is the annual NFL Super Bowl game, and there’s nothing like watching your favorite team win the championship on a high definition, big screen TV.  It is one of the high times for HDTV retailers, and it is often easy to find markdowns and TV sales as retailers begin to shout out their incentives to try to draw shoppers in.  With 3D TV not really taking off as manufacturers had hoped or expected, the big screen LCD, LED, and Plasma TVs are no longer being touted as yesterday’s technology.

Some of the Super Bowl fans were disappointed that at least at this point, there are no plans to broadcast the 2011 Super Bowl in 3D, however reports indicate that only 2% of consumers went for the 3D technology, partially due to price, and partially because they just really aren’t buying into the concept yet, especially with those geeky and very expensive 3D glasses that are required.  While this may change as more of the technology is released and the general public becomes more acclimated to 3D as they wait for prices to become more reasonable, however for the time being, its not on the lineup for the 2011 Super Bowl.

If you are interested in upgrading your home theater before game day, you’ll have the opportunity for scheduled delivery and enhanced delivery for any of the LCD, LED, and Plasma TVs.  Learn more about getting you TV in time for the Super Bowl using Amazon’s Scheduled Deliver & Enhanced Delivery Options.
