Avatar Kinect Expands Motion Sensor Technology Applications on Xbox 360

One of the upcoming products that debuted at the CES 2011 opening event was a sophisticated demonstration of the Avatar Kinect.  As last year, Microsoft gave the keynote presentation that officially kicked of the CES 2011, and they did not disappoint.  While there was no talk of tablets at all, Steve Bellmar, CEO for Microsoft wisely focused the presentation on one of their greatest successes of 2010, the Xbox 360 Kinect.

The Avatar Kinect is a motion sensor video chat service in which players can use their Kinect avatar to meet up and chat with friends and family in any of the fifteen virtual chat room settings.  The Kinect allows you to use facial recognition motion control to express yourself through your avatar, right down to raising your eyebrows.  While some may find it a little cheesy, most people will have a lot of fun with the video chat option which is free to Xbox Live subscribers.
