The Xbox 360 gaming system has been the number one selling gaming console for more than 6 months strait, and Microsoft has indicated that they believe that the Kinect will define the brand for the upcoming year in a profound and exciting way.  This is not at all hard to believe based on the fact that the Kinect sold over a million unites in its first week on the market.  The Kinect is a revolutionary new motion gaming add-on to the Xbox 360 that provides controller free gaming through advanced motion sensor technology and voice commands, allowing players to become completely immersed in their interactive Kinect games.

According to Microsoft’s chief McGill, there is an exciting line up of upcoming Kinect game releases that will be ‘mind blowing’, and will really show players what the Kinect is made of, and what it can really do.  While the existing Kinect games are exceptionally impressive in my opinion, McGill hints that we haven’t seen the best of Kinect yet.  Game developers are working hard to create an expanded repertoire of Kinect games for 2011 that will seal the deal on the Kinect being the most advanced and thrilling interactive motion gaming option out there.

The Kinect definitely transforms the Xbox 360 gaming system’s platform, and redefines them as an enhanced entertainment system rather than simply a video game console.  The public’s response to the Kinect addition to the Xbox 360 platform has been a resounding thumbs up as these gaming devices are flying off the shelves.  Microsoft certainly has set the stage for anticipation as we look forward to what they have for us in 2011.
