American Idol is kicking off their tenth season tonight, and with new judges, new contestants, its an all new show.  Judge Simon Cowell says good-bye, along with Ellen and Kara, while JLo and Steve Tyler take their new places as American Idol judges.  Both JLo and Steve Tyler have musical backgrounds and much to contribute as judges on the show.  American Idol has enjoyed extremely high ratings, and this seasons will be running neck and neck with Paula Abdul’s “Live To Dance’, and it will be interesting to see if Paula is able to draw away any of the Idol audience.

When interviewed by MTV News, American Idol judge Randy Jackson expressed that he has very high expectations for Season 10 of the show, “I hope that Idol finds a killer vocalist that helps to change music completely,” he explained.  He went to comment that he wants to find someone that is the same caliber as Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, or Prince.

The season premiere of American Idol will start out showing the audience highlights from the auditions, which there were more of for this season than every before.  I personally find the auditions to be one of the most entertaining portions of the show, and love to watch them.  You can have your own American Idol Auditions at home with the incredible American Idol Karaoke Video Games.
