Apple Launches Mac App Store Same Day CES 2011 Kicks Off

Apple felt no need to attend the CES 2011 to show off their upcoming iPad 2, and decided to make some big news of their on the same day the CES opens its doors.  Today marked the launch of the long awaited Mac App Store that provides access to software applications from the App Store via iTunes for Mac computer owners.  Until today, only iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad users could access iTunes for downloading apps.

Current Mac computers can access the App Store using the Snow Leopard operating system.  Older Mac computer models can perform a simple update to gain access to the Mac Apps.  In an effort to kick things off right, Apple is allowing Mac users to download any apps that they purchase onto all of their Mac devices.  So you pay once and spread the joy through all of your Apple electronics.  At this point and time, the Apple Mac Store is accessible for any and all Mac computers.

Mac computer owners will be able to choose from the multiple App categories, which include education, graphics and design, games, productivity, lifestyle, and utilities.  Should anyone buy a new Mac computer, they will be able to download all of their apps from their iTunes account.  Gaining access to the Apple App Store may just entice more Apple fans to splurge on the highly renowned line of Mac desktop PCs and laptops.
