The People’s Choice Awards took place on Wednesday, January 5th, and the cast of Twilight had quite a bit to celebrate after enduing up as the big winners of the evening and walking away with four  prestigious awards.  Ok, maybe there’s not a lot of prestige in the awards show, but many do consider the People’s Choice Awards to be among the most important because it is actually the people who choose the winners, and not a committee who may or may not represent the general public.

The People’s Choice Awards gives the audience a voice, and that means something to many movie fans.  The Twilight movies seem to only gain momentum, long after their release in theaters and onto DVD.  Fans simply cannot get enough of them!

The four awards won by The Twilight Saga: Eclipse movie are:

• Favorite Movie: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
• Favorite Drama Movie: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
• Favorite On Screen Team: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse)
• Favorite Movie Actress:  Kristen Stewart

Overall, the young Twilight stars had an exceptional night.  Unfortunately the guys weren’t able to pull off any favorite actor awards, however, Kristen Stewart’s win for Favorite Movie Actress beat out the likes of Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston, which says something about Stewart’s popularity with the ‘people’.  I must say however, watching Stewart accept her award was quite painful, and horribly awkward.  I went back and forth from feeling sorry for her to wanting to slap her and tell her to grow up and develop some damned stage presence.  If you want to catch a glimpse of one of the most awkward moments in People’s Choice history, check out this video:
