Star Wars Saga Announcement To Be Made At CES on Thursday

Fox has made things interesting for Star Wars fans in regards to the upcoming CES 2011 that is being held in Las Vegas and kicks off this Thursday.  The CES is the annual Consumer Electronics Show where the who’s who in electronics attends to showcase their latest and greatest contributions to the world of consumer electronics.  This year’s event will prove to be one of the most exciting with some many highly anticipated gadgets on the horizon, such as tablets, smartphones, video gaming gadgets, 3D home theater and gaming, and so much more.

And from what Fox is saying, they want in on the action and promised a big announcement that pertains to the Star Wars The Complete Saga on Blu-ray.  The announcement will be made on opening day of the CES at the Panasonic booth.  They have not given any more specifics other than Darth Vader being present at the announcement.  There are rumors circulating of a possible 3D version of the films, and based on where the announcement is being made, we’re inclined to think that Panasonic may be getting some type of exclusivity deal in the mix, or at least involved to some capacity.  We’ll find out for certain on Thursday.

Star Wars is one of the most beloved science fiction franchises of all times, and carries a loyal following of faithful fans who seek out the force.  The Star Wars fan base ranges in age from pre-school through to senior citizens, and covers all genders, backgrounds, and socio-economic categories.  The Star Wars Saga has not been released on Blu-Ray thus far, hence the announcement may simply be the release of a blu-ray collection and possibly some impressive special features, however, we’re inclined to think there is more to it.
