The ‘Cake Boss’ Welcomes Fourth Child

Buddy Valastro, better known as TV’s ‘Cake Boss’ and his wife Lisa welcomed Carlo Salvatore as their fourth child on Valentine’s Day.

“What a perfect Valentine’s Day gift,” he says to People. “What kind of a Valentine’s Day gift do you and [your] wife want [more] than a new baby?”

According to Buddy, his wife was getting ready to go to a doctor’s appointment and she refused to let him come along, she told him, “If you go it’s going to be nothing! If anything happens, I’ll call you.” Soon after she left, she called him and told him that it was time. He made a U-turn and sped to the hospital. Lisa got to the hospital at 10 am and delivered the baby at 5:11 p.m in Livingston, New Jersey, according to Access Hollywood.

Baby Carlo Salvatore was named after the family bakery Carlo’s and Salvatore in honor of Buddy’s former colleague, Sal Picinich, who died of cancer two weeks beforehand. He will be joining older siblings, Buddy Jr., Marco and sister Sofia.

“I said, ‘Carlo, welcome to the jungle,’ ” Valastro said laughing according to People. “They don’t want to let him go,” he continued. “They want to hold him and kiss him and hug him.”

“My oldest, Sofia, is really, really gentle and wants to help, [but] the boys are going to make him rough at a young age!” He added.

Buddy said that he wanted a big family like the one he grew up in. “I believe in having a lot of children and I think it’s really nice, especially when a family grows up tight and together like me and my family did. I’m carrying those values on to my kids,” he said according to People.
