Parents are outraged at Lea Michele’s Cosmo Cover

Lea Michele has done it again. Last October, her provocative photo spread with other Glee stars in GQ, caused public outrage and raised many eyebrows. This year, her magazine cover for this month’s Cosmopolitan is being thrashed by parents who think it’s too risqué.

“It’s irresponsible to be using an adult who represents a minor dressed in provocative clothes,” Suzette Valle, a mother of two, says.

The cover shows Michele in a black plunging neckline, and parents are furious that an adult playing a minor should be dressed like that, “I think Lea Michele is sending the wrong message. She plays such a ‘good girl’ on Glee and a lot of kids look up to her persona. Then she poses very provocatively on two magazine covers which makes my almost-13-year-old son very confused and offended,” Kim Trefcer, a mom from New York told FoxNews. “I find it frustrating as a parent who is trying to teach right from wrong to their kids and then you have things like this happen which is showing middle schoolers things like sex sells and all that goes along with that,” according to the Boston Herald.

Michele also provoked discontentment when she told the magazine that her idea of a perfect night was to sip a glass of wine while talking to her 26-year-old boyfriend on Skype, according to US magazine.

Cosmopolitan’s publishing house Hearst defended its decision to feature Glee star Lea Michele on the cover by saying, “We’re thrilled to feature Lea Michele on the March cover of Cosmopolitan and think she looks stunning,” a representative of Hearst told Fox News in a statement. “Michele is a grown woman and Cosmopolitan is a magazine is for adults.”   Learn more about Lea Michele and the cast of Glee at the Glee Cast Store

  • Lea is an adult, and Cosmo is certainly and adult magazine which should not be read by teens anyhow.
