NBC’s ’Wonder woman’ Finally Revealed

Adrianna Palicki is the new Wonder Woman. The star of “Friday Night Lights” has been chosen by NBC to star in the remake of the iconic comic book heroine series.

The new series pilot, by David E. Kelley who is also directed “Boston Legal”, “Ally McBeal” and “Harry’s Law”, will be a reinvention of the comic book “Wonder Woman”. The heroine plays Diana Prince, who is a modern and successful corporate executive, but also a crime fighter, according to the LA Times. The series will be produced by David E. Kelley production and Warner Bros. Television.

DC Women Kicking Ass revealed the casting sheet for the series, and the character who is set to play Wonder Woman. It requested that it be a “Female, late 20s to 30s. A kick-ass Superhero / Powerful C.E.O. / A vulnerable woman. Long flowing black hair, blue eyes. Amazon-like, muscular, an Olympian. The charismatic stage presence of a rock star, A crime fighter. Also, a real woman who yearns to live a normal life. She is accessible and appealing to all people, men and women alike…” Palicki has apparently all the qualifications necessary, but The Hollywood Reporter also says that she’s a comic book fan which would definitely come in handy in her new role.

Palicki, who played Tyra Collette in NBC’s acclaimed “Friday Night Lights,” will also star in the upcoming film remake of “Red Dawn,” says the LA Times. She also starred in the horror film “Breaking the Girl” and in the Fox’s recent, short-lived series “Lone Star.”

Since the 1975-79 iconic “Wonder Woman” TV series which starred Lynda Carter, Television broadcast has had a tough time trying to develop a series based on a female action heroine. NBC attempted “Bionic Woman” but it failed to attract viewership. While NBC tries its luck out with ‘Wonder Woman’, ABC on its end will be betting on a modern-day “Charlie’s Angelsaccording to The Hollywood Reporter. You can also watch Wonder Woman on Demand.
