As the upcoming Spiderman project is underway, we’re finally get some sneak peeks of the new look that Spiderman will be sporting in the refresh of the franchise.  While its always a little difficult for audiences to adjust to cast changes for their favorite heroes, these new pictures give us a nice glimpse at the new Peter Parker being played by Andrew Garfield, and it might just be enough to prompt fans to give the guy a shot.

While no sign of Spidey’s mask has been shown, you can see that the overall design of the costume has been updated and made to look a little more edgy, stylish, and quite a bit darker, hinting at a grittier overtone to the new films.    New cast, new direction, new costume, its a whole new take on Spiderman!!

Garfield has expressed his enthusiasm about playing Peter Parker, and has stated that he considers it an honor to wear the special spandex suit of a hero from his childhood, commenting that its like a dream come true.  This humbleness is something to be respected in movie stars, and its a good sign that Garfield has been able to refrain from developing an arrogance or ‘big head’ that would stifle the work and create distance between him and Spiderman fans.

Something about seeing these pics has certainly ignited some new excitement about the film, and yes, I am looking forward to it even more.  As a comic book and superhero fan, I am the proud owner of many Comic book gone movie flicks, and enjoy popping them in the DVD player from time to time.  The original Spiderman Trilogy starring Tobey MacGuire and Kristen Dunst is available on blu-ray disc for $39.99.
