Chuck Berry Returns Home After Collapsing at Concert in Chicago

Chuck Berry, celebrated rock ‘n roll legend, suffered a rather scary health incident at his recent concert at Congress Theater on Saturday, January 1st.  After struggling with a performance in which he played out of tune and erratically,  Berry collapsed over his keyboard, and was helped off stage by the staff.

The incident is reported to have occurred due to exhaustion as Mr. Berry played two concerts on New Year’s Eve, and then traveled immediately to Chicago to perform on the 1st.  That schedule would be taxing on anyone, much less an 84 year old man.

Thankfully, the incident did not require that Berry be hospitalized, and he was able to return to his home in MO by Sunday afternoon.  His longtime friend Joe Edwards confirmed that Berry is feeling much better, and is doing so well in fact that he’s already begun preparing for his upcoming concert at Blueberry Hill on Jan 19th.  Berry has been performing a once a month concert at Blueberry Hill since 1996.

Chuck Berry has a dedicated portal on Amazon that features all of his CDs, MP3s, and DVDs.  Browse the Chuck Berry Store now.  You’ll also find some very intriguing Books on the topic.
