Arnold Schwarzenegger Wants to Act Again

Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger wants to get back to his old job, acting and is pretty excited about it according to his recent tweet.

“Exciting news,” Arnold said on Twitter. “My friends at CAA (Creative Art Agency) have been asking me for 7 years when they can take offers seriously. Gave them the green light today.” Schwarzenegger’s personal aide, Daniel Ketchell, confirmed the tweet Friday, according to The LA Times.

Many movie industry insiders were wondering what Schwarzenegger would be doing after he stepped down as governor of California on January 3, after serving for two terms. Since he became governor, Schwarzenegger has appeared in various cameos, such as “The Rundown” in 2003 alongside The Rock, and ”Around the World in 80 days,” in 2004 with Jackie Chan. He also appeared in Sylvester Stallone’s “The Expendables” alongside Bruce Willis. In 2005, he also played himself in “The Kid and I.”He was also the voice of Baron von Steuben in an episode of “Liberty’s Kids,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Schwarzenegger has not signed any deals or had any movie offers, but he has put his representatives in charge of finding him movie roles. Prior to becoming governor, he was able to hit box office gold with James Cameron’s science fiction “Terminator” series. Before that, he appeared in the 1979 film, “Hercules in New York,” and “Conan the Barbarian” in 1982. He also appeared in “True Lies”,”Twins”, and “Kindergarten Cop” in the 1990s, according to The LA Times.

According to UPI, there have been names of fictional comic movies going around that Arnold Schwarzenegger should star in, including “The Lifter,” as a spinoff of “The Wrestler,” and “The Fighter.” Another name is The King’s Speech, which refers to the actor’s heavy accent playing as the king of Austria.
