The HTC Thunderbolt Coming Soon to a Best Buy near You

After the approval of the FCC, the highly anticipated HTC Thunderbolt 4G may be ready for sale very soon. According to Gizmocrunch, its release has been pushed back to February 24 from the rumored Valentine’s Day launch.

It will be the first Smartphone to use Verizon’s freshly installed LTE 4G network. Best Buy has been chosen to be the exclusive retailer of the Thunderbolt and it announced that it would be available for pre-sale, according to PCMAG.

“The HTC Thunderbolt is a groundbreaking smart phone and Best Buy couldn’t think of a better way to kick off 2011 than by offering it as a national retail exclusive to our customers,” declared Scott Anderson, Best Buy Mobile’s head of merchandising. “We have worked hard to provide  our customers with a great selection of smart phones which now includes the HTC Thunderbolt, both  versions of the iPhone 4, Samsung Nexus S, HTC EVO 4G and many more options, ” he added to PCMAG

The final design of the thunderbolt can be viewed at many websites, with its elegant finishing touches. The Smartphone’s specs are revealed by the Best Buy website. The phone will feature 2 cameras, an 8 megapixel primary and a 1megapixel secondary camera. The phone will support HTML5 and Microsoft Exchange and will have 8GB storage and 768 RAM.  The smartphone will of course also include the usual integrated Google services such as Google map, Google search, and Gmail. Two of the most notable features have got to be Skype for video chatting and the 4G Mobile Hotspot functionality. This feature will be free and will allow the Thunderbolt to support over eight devices via the Hotspot feature.

The starting price for the HTC Thunderbolt is about 750$ without a contract, but the price drops to $249 with a two year contract, according to the Pop Herald. Learn more about HTC Smartphones.
