One of the worst nightmares for an avid gamer is getting caught up in the hype over a new game, having high expectations, and finding out the game is a big disappointment, after spending $60 mind you, or finding out that the game has no replay value and hence a potentially short shelf life within your video game collection.

This is where the user reviews at Amazon can be invaluable!!  Personal testimony from personal experience can be a critical window into the true elements of a video game, and can provide future shoppers with exactly the information they need to make an informed decisions about purchasing video games.  To access the user reviews, you simply go to the Amazon Video Game Store, select the product you are interested in purchasing, and read the user reviews that are posted on the product page.  A great example is the user reviews section for the new Tron Evolution Game for the PS3.  Even though the game is new, there are already 5 user reviews.

User reviews are so valuable because they are raw, honest data that, reviews that are not ‘fluffed’ up to sell something.  If you see low ratings and consistent complaints about a game, or a part of the game that you thought would be off the charts exciting, you may want to try renting the game before buying, or reconsider having anything to do with it at all.  Periodically we will include video game reviews on this site, but only when we have access to either playing it personally, or access to someone we trust who has played the game.
